How does Kartris differ from Cactushop?

Cactushop is built on Microsoft's ASP (Active Server Pages) platform - it's an excellent platform and very widely supported. Kartris is built on Microsoft's latest platform called ASP.NET. Like ASP it is very widely supported, but it has a number of advantages over "classic" ASP - it is more secure, more scalable and offers functionality to users not available in classic ASP.

Cactusoft will continue to develop and support Cactushop, but Kartris will offer many benefits thanks to the superior platform provided by ASP.NET

Easily upgrade your ASP Shopping Cart to ASP.NET

Cactusoft provides a free tool to help Cactushop users migrate their shops from Cactushop to Kartris. This takes care of migrating the data to the new format required by Kartris, however skins (visual design) would need to be re-designed for user with Kartris

Free ASP.NET Shopping Cart

There is a completely free version of Kartris available - this is not a trial version or a demo, but a fully working version of Kartris with some limitations, intended for small stores (its limited to stores with 500 or fewer products). We're confident that many users of the free version of Kartris will decide to upgrade to the paid-for versions of the software as their shops thrive.
