At what stage in the process are stock levels adjusted?

At what stage is the stock level updated? If there are 10 items in stock and a customer adds 10 to his basket but does not pay, does that stop other uses from ordering the item?
Answer
Stock levels are adjusted only when a customer actually purchases the items. CactuShop will let any number of people add items to their basket but only considers items as removed from available stock when they are purchased.
CactuShop will also automatically adjust the quantities of items in a customer's basket if the level available drops because another person has just purchased a few (or all) of the remaining stock. So if I put 10 of an item in my basket and then another user makes a purchase meaning there are just 5 left in stock, CactuShop will automatically adjust the level in my basket to 5. This adjustment happens the next time I refresh or call a page on the site.
