Can I easily restore a category that has been deleted?

Question

If a category has been deleted, is there any way of gettting it back onto the site together with all the products that were included in that category without needing to retype all the info?

Answer

The short answer is no. If you had backed up the database then you could restore that. Once deleted, items are gone from the database completely. For this reason it is often better to "hide" a category or product if you may need to restore at a future date.
