Charging shipping according to weight rather than order value

Question

I would like to base my shipping rates on weight rather than the value of the ordered items - how do I do this?

Answer

In the back end of CactuShop, click to edit the config settings. In 'miscellaneous settings' find the item 'calcshipcostbyweight'.

Edit it and set the value from 'n' to 'y'.

The shipping bands will need to be adjusted as these are still set with the monetary values - you can change these bands from the back end too. Make sure you set weights for all your products too!
