Currency rates updates
Question
Are the currency rates connected to a currency updater so that they are always in line with market rates?
Answer
In v5, the rates for the currencies are updated manually. There is no real time lookup or rates feed.
In v6, you can retrieve live rates for many currencies in the 'edit currency rates' page, which will be filled in automatically. You can then make any changes (as well as review the rates) before submitting the new rates to go live.
Note that this feature does not automatically link your site to real time rates which may change minute by minute. Instead it gives you a quick and simple way to lookup rates in the back end which you can then opt to set live. In most cases, doing this once a day should be sufficient unless the currencies you deal with are highly volatile.
Note that the rates feed requires active CactuShop support coverage. We cannot not provide any warranty of the accuracy or reliability of the rate information which is why you must always review the figures obtained via the feed before setting them live.
