Question

I'm having problems with cactuscrypto13.exe. I've associated .ce2 with the program, but clicking the ce2 file doesn't seem to do anything -- that is, there's a pause (presumably while the crypto program starts) but then nothing. Starting from the command line (cactuscrypto13.exe filename.ce2) also pauses and then nothing. The cactuscrypto13.exe program will start if run alone (i.e., without a filename).

Answer

This will occur if the ce2 (encrypted) file is in the incorrect format. The normal explanation for this is forgetting to update the des.asp file which ships with CactuShop (a dummy file) with the des.asp file which ships with the encryption add-on (and contains the real DES code). If you open up the ce2 file in a text editor you should see hex code... if you see a message saying the encryption software must be purchased then the des.asp file has not been replaced.
