How do I get featured items to appear on the front of the shop?

Question

I have customized the front page including the news sections but I have a large gap where your demo has products. How do I get featured products on the home page?

Answer

The featured products are set up from the back end of CactuShop. Login to the back end, then click to edit a product. Change the value in the 'featured' dropdown menu to set the priority of the item for display on the home page. Zero is not selected (most items), other values above this will cause the product to appear on the home page, with those items set to '5' appearing highest.
