Question

How does the V_Quantity field work? If I put in 100 for the quantity does the software automatically remove one if I sell one item?

Answer

Stock tracking is activated for an item if the V_QuantityWarnLevel is NOT set to zero. The total of remaining stock (V_Quantity) will be adjusted each time someone purchases items. The store will automatically show an 'out of stock' tag instead of 'add to basket' link where V_Quantity is zero and stock tracking for this item is enabled. Also, if someone tries to add more of a particular item to their basket than is currently in stock, this will be reduced to the level of stock available and a message displayed to this effect.

The field is present in the v3 database but is not used.
