Limitations of the mailing list.
Question
Is there a limit on how many people can receive newsletters through our mailing list?
Isn't it likely that if you have hundreds of people who have signed up to your mailing list that your web host will forbid you to send out too many emails?
Answer
There is no limit imposed by the CactuShop software in the number of emails that can be sent at one time.
However problems may occur when trying to send out the email to lots of people in one go. Depending on your host, the script will time out after a certain length of execution time.
We recommend that if you have over a couple of hundred emails then you export the list (you can use the Clipboard function in the backend to copy all the address and paste them in to email software or a dedicated mailing list software). If you are on shared hosting, where the hosts often set very short timeout periods, we've had reports of the sending script failing with around 50 emails.
