Mail list confirm link gives a 404 'page not found' when clicked

Question

We are using the email sign up form. This works fine until the customer clicks the link to confirm that they wish to be added to the mailing list when you get a HTTP 404 - File not found page (address that the browser is looking for is - http://www.mydomainnamehere.co.uk/asp/a.asp?r=453054317yq5bgbfman16

How do we fix this?

Answer

This is because the web address has been incorrectly set in the back end config settings. If you are running CactuShop in a folder on your site, the web address of the site needs to include this so links it generates in emails are correct.

If you installed all the CactuShop files in a folder called 'shop' then the web site URL in the config settings will be:

www.mydomainnamehere.co.uk/shop/

(remember the / at the end!)
