Question

Can certain areas (download files) be protected by a password where the other areas (download files) are openly accessible to anyone?

Answer

Products can have a URL download location associated with them. Products can be either uploaded through the back end, in which case the link to the item is created dynamically, or the URL to a separate location can be specified.

There is no password protection on the files. We would recommend that downloadable items incorporate security, for example, many executable programmes have serial numbers to unlock certainly features.
