Where do I change the text that says (.....)? How do I find the setting for (.....)?

I want to change the text on a particular part of the store... where do I find it? For example, where do I change the 'alt' text for the image on the first news story? Or how do I find a particular config setting?
Answer
If you need to find something in CactuShop's admin section, the back end home page search box is the place to start. Just enter a part of the text you're looking for and it will find records that match in various tables, including language strings (text elements on the site), config settings, customers, products, versions and so on.
So if you need to find a particular version to edit, enter the version code and it will find it. Or if you want to change the default 'alt' text for the home page image that comes with our demo data, just search for 'suburban'.
If you're looking for a particular setting that you think there might be a config setting for, try the back end search for this too. For example 'mail' or 'cat' are good guesses for config settings that relate to email or categories.
Using the back end search reduces administration time significantly as you can go directly to the relevant settings, products or customers instead of having to drill down through multiple levels of menus.
